Du Plessis of De Beers Named Vice-President, Exploration at Forest Gate

Montreal, Qc, June 8, 2004 - Forest Gate Resources Inc. reports that it has hired Pieter Du Plessis as Vice-President, Exploration. The agreement with Mr. Du Plessis, currently a resident of Botswana, Africa, will take effect following his receiving a work permit from Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Before accepting the position, Du Plessis visited Forest Gate's East Side diamond property with company President, Michael Judson. Du Plessis assessed the potential of the property and examined core recovered from the Dizzy kimberlite, which recently produced 37 diamonds from delineation drilling.

Du Plessis, aged 39, has spent his entire professional career with the De Beers group of companies including Debswana Diamond Company (Pty) Ltd., Namdeb Diamond Corporation, and De Beers Prospecting Botswana (Pty) Ltd. He is currently a Mineral Resource Manager at De Beers' Jwaneng Mine, Botswana.

At Jwaneng, Du Plessis was responsible for a US$60 million Resource Extension Project designed to extend the life of the mine, optimize its net present value and mitigate the longterm risk of the resource. The Jwaneng Mine is considered the richest diamond mine in the world and the richest of any type of mine.

At Namdeb, Du Plessis was Technical Services Manager at the Elizabeth Bay Mine, responsible for Onshore and Offshore diamond production, including contractors. Earlier at the Elizabeth Bay Mine, he was a Section Mine Geologist where he was responsible for open pit mining, sampling plant management and an exploration program to extend the life of the mine. At De Beers Prospecting, Botswana, as Exploration Project Manager and Senior Geologist, Du Plessis was involved in the discovery of 14 kimberlites in northern Botswana in the vicinity of the Orapa Diamond Mine.
