Forest Gate Finds Diamonds in Duke Discovery hole yields 22 microdiamonds

MONTREAL, QC. OCTOBER 28, 2005 – Forest Gate Resources Inc. reports it has found diamonds in its newly discovered and recently drilled Duke kimberlite on its wholly owned East Side property near Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

A total of 30 microdiamonds were recovered from two HQ sized drill holes that tested a portion of the northern lobe of the Duke kimberlite body during the summer 2005 exploration drill program.

“The fact that Duke is diamondiferous continues to add momentum to the entire Fort à la Corne diamond play.” said Forest Gate Vice President of Exploration Steve Roebuck. “What is really pleasing is that all the kimberlite units sampled came back diamondiferous. This is a brand new kimberlite body with no prior drilling and every facies is fertile.”

The two vertical drill holes, FG05-08 & FG05-11, were collared 50 metres apart and had total kimberlite intercepts of 75.0m and 100.3m respectively. Drill hole FG05-11, which provided the deepest kimberlite intersection and most microdiamonds, was stopped due to difficult drilling conditions as the ground squeezed on the rods. “There is a chance that hole FG05-11 had more kimberlite yet to discover; 15 cm of mud at the bottom of the hole is not enough to convince me we came out of the pipe and into the country rock.” said Roebuck.

The Duke kimberlite straddles the property’s southern boundary and is shared with Shore Gold. The geophysical signature of Duke indicates approximately 40% of the kimberlite rests below Forest Gate ground.

“Forest Gate will build on this great news and drill Duke again in 2006, we’re just seeing the beginning of this pipe’s potential” said Roebuck. “Duke is our second diamondiferous kimberlite discovery in two years.”

A total of 545.95 kilograms of kimberlite was analyzed for microdiamonds by SGS Lakefield Research Limited of Lakefield, Ontario. The results are as follows:

Forest Gate Resources recently completed its 2005 exploration drill program on its 100% owned East Side diamond property. In total, over 3700 metres of HQ size core was drilled on three different kimberlite bodies on East Side. Additional microdiamond results from 121, Dizzy and Duke are expected imminently.
