Forest Gate Hauls 55 Diamonds From 121 Kimberlite

MONTREAL, QC. DECEMBER 14, 2005 – Forest Gate Resources Inc. reports that it has found 55 diamonds from a single HQ-sized drill hole targeting its portion of the 121 Kimberlite pipe located on its East Side Property near Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The 121 Kimberlite spills eastward across a shared boundary with the Shore Gold/DeBeers Joint Venture.

“We thought the drill core held promise when we visually logged multiple layers with concentrations of purple garnets.” said Steve Roebuck, Forest Gate’s Vice President of Exploration. “The recovery of 55 diamonds from 110 kilograms of kimberlite is confirmation that the resedimented kimberlite has been enriched with diamonds.”

“These results have helped focus our 2006 exploration program on delineating size and tonnage of the 121 Kimberlite on Forest Gate land.” said Roebuck.

The 55 diamond tally also includes four macrodiamonds, stones with two faces greater than 0.5 millimetres, with the largest measuring 0.83 mm x 0.68 mm x 0.47 mm. Over 90% of the diamonds are coloured white. While the results are thought to be accurate, they are still classified as preliminary by the lab since a second person has yet to verify the data as part of their in-house QA/QC program. It is possible that results may change.

“I will be more than happy to share the detailed results with our neighbors Shore Gold and DeBeers,” said Roebuck. “The 121 Kimberlite is an important pipe for the Joint Venture and anything that helps put this pipe into the mine plan makes sense for all the players in the Fort a la Corne Diamond Project. To date, drill hole FG05-29 represents the most easterly hole drilled into the 121 Kimberlite, and it’s encouraging to see comparable numbers to those reported by Kensington Resources on September 22, 2005.”

The vertical drill hole, FG05-29, intersected 22.7 metres of resedimented volcaniclastic kimberlite before exiting the pipe into underlying sediments. Three other holes were attempted in the area but difficult drilling conditions in the overburden forced the holes to end before intersecting bedrock. “I don’t think that will happen again.” stated Roebuck “We plan to come back in the new year with a heavier drill rig.”

Forest Gate Resources is involved in diamond exploration in Quebec and Saskatchewan. The East Side Property and the recently acquired West Side Property are strategically located along the flanks of the 121 Kimberlite and 122 Kimberlite, within five kilometres of the Star and 140/141 pipes. Since 2003, Forest Gate has discovered the diamondiferous Dizzy and Duke pipes.

The South Side property, located near Melfort, Saskatchewan has ten electromagnetic anomalies that are anticipated to be drill-tested in 2006. The Portage Property, located in the Otish Mountains in north central Quebec, is being actively explored with joint venture partner Majescor Resources.
