Forest Gate Bulk Samples Two Tonnes of Portage Kimberlite

MONTREAL, QC. NOVEMBER 20, 2006 – Forest Gate Resources Inc. reports that a two tonne kimberlite sample has been crushed and processed at the De Beers dense media separation (DMS) plant located in Grand Prairie, Alberta. The kimberlite was collected from a new boulder train discovered during the company’s autumn 2006 exploration program on the Portage property located near the Otish Mountains in north central Quebec.

The resulting heavy mineral concentrate has been sent to the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) laboratory for macrodiamond recovery using caustic fusion analysis. Results from the SRC are anticipated to be received in 4 to 6 weeks.

Kimberlite boulders, totalling more than two tonnes in weight, were discovered down-ice from the Remick kimberlite dyke. Due to the size of the boulders and their geographic location, the source of the kimberlite glacial train is interpreted to be the Remick dyke system. This hypothesis will be investigated further by use of microscopic thin-section analysis of the kimberlite boulders.

“The caustic fusion analysis will provide us with key information in order to better evaluate the diamond potential of the Remick kimberlite dyke system” said Steve Roebuck, Forest Gate’s Vice President of Exploration.

Earlier this year, the Remick kimberlite dyke was drill-defined to a strike length of approximately 900 meters. The kimberlite dyke remains open on strike length to the northwest and down dip. Kimberlite boulders collected in 2004, proximal to the new kimberlite boulder train, were found to be diamondiferous. A total of 32 diamonds greater than 0.075 millimetres was recovered from a 136 kilograms kimberlite sample.

In addition to the discovery of the new kimberlite boulder train, 415 glacial sediment samples collected during the field program are currently being analysed for kimberlite indicator minerals (KIM) and geochemistry. Results from the sampling, expected during the coming weeks, will help refine the current KIM glacial dispersion patterns already outlined on the property and help to determine the next phase of exploration on the project.

The Portage property, being explored with joint venture partner Majescor Resources, is located adjacent to Ashton Mining of Canada’s Foxtrot project. Ashton is currently conducting a 10,000 tonne bulk sampling program on their diamondiferous Renard kimberlite cluster.

This press release was prepared by André Laferrière, P.Geo., Forest Gate’s senior project geologist acting as the Qualified Person for the company under National Instrument 43-101.

Forest Gate will be present at the 2006 Quebec Exploration conference held in Quebec City on November 20 to 23. Please come and meet with us at the conference or visit the company website www.forestgate.ca for additional information on the Portage property.
